Charity Fund raising evening 14th December 2018 for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance
On behalf of all of us on the committee, a big THANK YOU for all the money raised for Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. With the Auction, donations and collection bucket in the main bar and restaurant area, we raised a whopping £260-00.
And, on the evening of Friday 18th January 2019 this figure was added to by our sister group, Lynx Ladies in Grantham, where £180-00 was raised in a fabulous raffle along with charity bucket donations, bringing the grand total to £440-00. Once again, THANK YOU to all who donated and helped.
The TransHaven meeting on 11th January 2019 was a great success. We were very pleased to have a very informative talk by Tim Couchman, 'Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead' , from the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Tim within his job capacity covers a vast field concerning the diversity and equality of everybody, which includes the transgender community.
The talk by Tim demonstrated that there is a voice that would raise any issues, suggestions and concerns within the NHS system. Though, as Tim put it, ‘there is no magic wand’, he would certainly voice any issues, with the hope of moving forward in a positive way.
Tim invites everybody within our transgender community to get in touch with suggestions. There are no exclusions whatsoever, this covers partners; crossdressers; androgynous; transitioning, male to female, female to male; at whatever point of your journey you are at.
For example, suggestions that often spring to mind such as waiting times, the access to clinics being made more local were touched upon in his discussion. The way in which staff interact with patients and indeed how transgender staff within the NHS workplace itself are treated was mentioned too. The more people who voice valid opinions about these matters and indeed any other matter will help Tim to act upon these points.
You are invited to send us your suggestions and ideas regarding any matter that concerns the transgender community within the NHS system, these will be forwarded to Tim.

We thank you for taking the time to consider and we thank Tim Couchman for his visit and help within our community.
